Because the best place for your pet to stay while you're away is in a neighbor's loving home

About Our Pet Care Exchange Community Mission

"A genuine, heartfelt, true labor of love."

To provide our pets, with the best possible care in the loving arms and homes of fellow pet lovers. To significantly reduce your pet care costs in hopes that you might then be able to afford another pet, and find it in your heart to rescue a dog, cat or other pet from an animal shelter.

As business people who have to travel frequently and pet lovers since we were born, we struggled to find a way to provide the best possible care for our pets. Our backgrounds are different, but our goal to create a community of pet lovers who exchange pet care and treat our pets as if they were their own, is in perfect concert.

We find that pet lovers are caring, trustworthy, loving individuals who connect easily. We see that all the time when we go to dog parks, at the vet’s office, when we walk our dogs, or when we take our pets out on the town.

The top three topics of conversation usually are:

  • Do you like your vet?
  • Who cares for your pet when you are out of town?
  • Can you believe how expensive it is to board your pet? Dog kennel fees?

ComeOverRover.com provides solutions to many of our concerns as pet owners. We are 100% committed to our mission; we proudly donate a percentage of all profits to no kill animal shelters.

About Us - A Dog, Cat & Pet Lover's Story

I am Dan L, and my dog Shatzi, a nine-year-old boxer mix, is a loving member of my family. I am a ComeOverRover.com founder and proud member. I am single and am required to travel quite a bit. I have always been a huge animal lover and over the years, have owned and adored five dogs, a stray cat, a snake, a turtle and numerous rabbits and fish.

Before ComeOverRover.com I had no choice but to leave Shatzi in a dog kennel when I travelled. I was always extremely worried not knowing if he was not properly cared for. I hated the fact that most of the time he was kept in the same cage in which he was also expected to relieve himself. It particularly broke my heart that he was left alone all night, surrounded by other crying animals. My baby boy hates to sleep alone and needs human companionship. I hated being billed by the dog kennel for every step Shatzi took: fees for companionship time, fees for playtime and on-one-one time, fees for walking, and fees for exercising. Once I even had to pay $1 per pill extra for them just to add a liquid vitamin supplement to his food. It also infuriated me when a flight or traffic delay caused me to be late and I couldn't pick him up after hours because the kennel was closed. I did try hiring dog sitters to stay in my house, but I quickly found out that they barely spent any time with him as they always had countless other "stops". I tested the concept of ComeOverRover.com with a few friends and I knew this was the best option for Shatzi, my friends, and their pets.

As passionate as I am about Shatzi's care, I am also a true believer that all animals deserve a chance including all those poor souls in animal shelters. There was no doubt in my mind that from day one, we would donate a percentage of our profits to no kill animal shelters and I sleep better at night knowing that with your support, pets in shelters will have a much better chance of surviving.

I am Marco S, and Mr. Cat, a huge Bombay, was part of my family for 12 years before he passed away at age 20. I am a ComeOverRover.com founder and proud member. I am married and my nine-year-old son helped to pick the ComeOverRover.com name. My son Ethan, the light of my eyes, was adopted from Russia. One of the first things my close friend and business partner Dan taught my son to say in English was "Mom I want a really big dog". Ethan however, wanted a cat, so we adopted one from our local animal shelter. Ethan named him "Koosh" - which is based on the Russian word for cat.

As many of you can imagine those first couple of months in an adoption are critical. Adopting a pet is one of the first bonding experiences that I can recall between Ethan and myself and I would highly recommend this to anyone that finds themselves in similar circumstances. Plus you get the added benefit of rescuing another soul.

As loving and devoted parents, my wife and I are intimately familiar with play dates, sleepovers, carpools and day care for our son. In fact, many of the experiences related to finding the best possible care for my son served as the basis for the establishment of ComeOverRover.com.
